With a cover date of June 1938, Action Comics #1 features the first appearance of Superman, is the most valuable comic book in the wold, and is seen as the first super hero comic book. Created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman is arguably the most popular super hero in the world, and the standard or prototype by which all others are defined. Action Comics #1 also features the first appearance of Clark Kent and Lois Lane.
