Shortly after, a group of atomic scientists study the object, when the alien beetles emerge from the soil, and gaining human-like size, launch a merciless attack against those present.

One of the scientists studying the sample is Professor Ray Palmer, who, after being captured and imprisoned, uses his fantastic powers to transform into the Atom. Will the Mighty Mite be able to stop the chain reaction triggered by the Beetle-Men to destroy the atomic piles, or will Earth become a mark for extraterrestrial invasion?
