It is revealed that Jonah Jameson, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle, pressured the United Nations using the newspaper into inviting Doctor Doom to its general assembly. Spider-Man puts the crumpled paper in his back-pocket and takes off.
- "Jonah Jameson used the power of his Daily Bugle
to persuade the U.N. to send for Dr. Doom! Sheesh"
Using his spider-webs to move through the city, and with Jonah Jameson in mind, Spidey heads to the offices of the Daily Bugle to have a serious conversation with the always cranky publisher.
- "Inviting the world's worst terrorist to address an anti-terrorism
conference -- is like inviting the mafia to preach to Baretta!
Okay, J.J. -- here's where you and ol' Spidey
have an eyeball to eyeball!"
