Daredevil #6

I came across this comic by mere chance, and having no expectations whatsoever, took a look at it and got hooked!  Daredevil has always been one of Marvel's most self-contained books, which in many ways makes it very accessible to readers, but this new series written by Mark Waid and pencilled by Marcos Martin is ridiculously amazing and deserving of all accolades thrown at it.  The story in this issue is extremely reader friendly, straightforward and smart; without pretensions, full of action, and is an entertaining read.  The art is so pretty in its simplicity, but so clean and well done; never too much, never too little; and the colors by Munsta Vicente just pop out of the pages.  This issue alone has converted me into a Daredevil fan, and I won't stop until I find the previous five.  I definitely recommend this book.

  1. Holes, holes and more holes. Why folks like this book is beyond me. It's terrible. "Unhackable and Indestructible storage" and yet obviously the the FF uniform was partially destroyed. Huh? Five guys surround Daredevil with guns and he gets out with that cock and bull story? Huh? "I'm the target now." Did the other two suddenly forget everything? Huh? This story is terrible. And the art (subject call of course) is just as bad. Daredevil has rarely been worse.

  2. I can see where you are coming from, and I would have questioned everything about the story as well, had it not been presented in the context of this new series. This iteration of title has a certain "campy" quality to it (art and storywise) that makes me not take it too seriously and just enjoy it for what it is; had the story been published two years ago or so I would have screamed horrified. Does that make sense?
